Pika Breeding
Breeding is a mechanic that will reward holders with new NFTs over time.
It will help to grow the player base and will be a source of recurring income if the holder chooses to sell onto a secondary marketplace.
It is a means for us to push value to the gen 0 holders and reward their early investor. We are looking to push a lot of utility to baby pikas to drive value to them as well as the breeding parents.
How to Obtain
Breeding will be seasonal, with seasons lasting between 1–2 months (TBD).
In order to qualify, you will need to hold 2 Perky Pika NFTs and a Pika Key in your Solana wallet. We will take a snapshot of holders and airdrop a mint token that will allow you to mint your baby pikas for that cycle. If either your key or your adult Pika is listed, then you will not be eligible to breed that cycle.
If you continue to hold the Pikas and key, you will continue to qualify for future breeding cycles.
Baby Pika Utility
In Game Character
Our game will be free to play but certain skills will not be available unless either an adult or baby pika is held in the wallet.
Furthermore, all free to play skills will be capped at level 40. In order to progress beyond this, the player will need to purchase an NFT. The NFT will be the game account: when loading the game the player will need to connect their wallet and select which NFT character they wish to play within the game. In game progress is carried over with the NFT during a sale. This should generate demand for the baby pikas on secondary markets from new players coming into the game.
As the progression in game is transferred along with the NFT, the NFT should become more valuable over time alongside in-game levelling of skills.
Evolutions
Baby pikas are capable of evolving to provide in game companions. We plan on introducing a number of companion types: mounts, combat and resource collectors.
The form of the companion will depend upon the companion type and the pika skin of the evolving baby pika.
There are currently 16 skin varieties within the baby pika collection, with likely more to be added in future.
The companions will provide varying boosts to in game stats such as attack, defense, carry capacity and speed. Each form should have a niche in game for which it has an advantage over the others: some will be better at attack, others in speed etc. We will encourage collecting all evolution forms within the game to push demand to baby pikas.

Themed 1 of 1s
Each breeding cycle, we will include a small number of themed 1 of 1 baby pikas. As pikas will be minted at random from a candy machine, everyone will have a lottery chance of obtaining them. We will introduce a new theme per cycle and may revisit themes in future.
